What the human evidence can support
FDA's review of the medical evidence describes ads for weight loss, sleep, ageing, and bodybuilding. It found no evidence that ipamorelin works for those uses.
Growth hormone is a chemical message in the body. As of October 1, 2026, the published studies in people found were a growth hormone study and a bowel-surgery trial. Neither study measured the health benefits promised in those ads.
What about animal results?
One mouse study found more body fat and food intake with ipamorelin. That does not establish what happens to weight in people.
In a rat study, rats received a medicine called methylprednisolone, which weakened their muscle and bone. Adding ipamorelin kept their muscles stronger and increased bone building compared with that medicine alone. The same idea was not tested in people.
Does a combination change the answer?
As of October 1, 2026, no human trial of the CJC-1295 and ipamorelin combination was found. CJC-1295 is the other peptide named in that combination. A recent review of the research reported animal findings, but no test of the two together in people.
A question to bring
What result has actually been measured in people, rather than suggested by an animal study?
