# What claims are worth pausing over?

Slow the decision down when the claim and the record do not match.

## A research label paired with treatment claims

As of October 1, 2026, FDA's [published letters](https://www.fda.gov/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations/warning-letters/nuscience-peptides-llc-733652-08242026) include an ipamorelin blend described as an unapproved new drug. FDA is short for Food and Drug Administration, the agency for US drugs. Calling it 'for research use only' did not change FDA's conclusion that it was offered for people to take.

A letter states FDA's position to a business; it is not a court finding.

## A made-to-order medicine called approved

Preparing medicine for an individual patient is what compounding means. As of September 26, 2026, FDA's [compounding explanation](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/compounding-and-fda-questions-and-answers) says these medicines are not FDA-approved. Calling one approved does not make it so.

## A seal used as the whole answer

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the US consumer protection agency, says official-looking seals and guarantees can be faked. Its [online health-products advice](https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0023-buying-health-products-services-online) points readers toward details they can check. Follow the claim to a licence record or a named source.

## A prescription medicine without a prescription

As of September 26, 2026, [the federal prescription rule](https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=granuleid:USC-prelim-title21-section353&num=0&edition=prelim) is violated when a prescription drug is supplied without a valid prescription. This is a reason to pause, even if the offer looks polished.

A question to bring

Can I check the claim in a public record, and does the answer match the exact product?
